NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Michael Strahan will continue to miss his duties as the host of ‘Good Morning America’ due to “personal family matters,” a spokesperson from ABC revealed to The Sun.
The extended absence of the 51-year-old from 'GMA' had left fans concerned and anxious, leading many to question his well-being due to his numerous missed episodes.
Strahan made his last appearance on ‘GMA’ on October 26 and has been missing since. And now it turns out that the former NFL star will not be at his desk this week as well.
Michael Strahan continues to miss ‘GMA’ owing to ‘family matters’
ABC executives recently explained the reason for the retired New York Giants player's hiatus from the show. “Michael Strahan will not be with us this week as he is dealing with some personal family matters," a spokesperson told the source outlet.
“We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns,” they added.
Michael has not only been missing from his co-hosting duties on the ABC program, but he has also been conspicuously absent from his role on 'Fox NFL Sunday'.
Strahan has a well-known history of taking extended breaks from the morning show. Additionally, he frequently misses Monday morning episodes on 'GMA' due to his weekend commitments, which include hosting 'The $100,000 Pyramid' and his punditry role on Fox.
The father of four sparked concern among fans due to his absence from ‘GMA’ with one fan tweeting and asking the morning show executives about his whereabouts.
He said, “@GMA just curious where's @michaelstrahan? we haven't seen him for the last week and a half?”

The ex-NFL star has also been silent on his social media and has also not posted or promoted any other gigs outside ‘GMA’

‘The $100,000 Pyramid' posted photos of the November 1 episode on Instagram. Michael was seen in the photos with that night's celebrity guests - Rosie O'Donnell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Holly Robinson Peete, and her husband Rodney Peete.
The caption promised stars, prizes, and fun on the episode. In the pictures, the former footballer wore his typical formal wear. He donned a gray suit with a white striped shirt and floral tie.
However, his return to ‘GMA’ is still a mystery.
