LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The Bear’ star Jeremy Allen White was left “blindsided” by his estranged wife Addison Timlin’s Mother’s Day post, which sources claim was inaccurate. After winning the Golden Globe for the first season, White is now appearing in the second season of ‘The Bear’, which debuted on Thursday, June 22 on Hulu.
The ‘Shameless’ star faced trouble in his domestic paradise when his wife of three years, Addison Timlin, filed for divorce on May 11. The duo, who were high school sweethearts, married in October 2019. While the reason for the split is unknown, White’s friends maintained that the Golden Globe-winning star was not involved in any kind of cheating. However, his hectic filming schedule kept him away from his family often.
What did Addison Timlin post on Mother’s Day?
Initially, the ‘Californication’ star took to her Instagram on Mother’s Day to post about her hardships as a “single mom”. Sharing an Instagram carousel of pictures of her two daughters, Ezer, 4, and Dolores, 2, she wrote initially, “Being a single mom is not how I pictured it. It is so f**king hard,” before adding, “It is all out covered in s**t crying on the floor kick you in the shins screaming with no sound coming out hard.”
She continued highlighting the pain of raising two young daughters all alone by saying, “Its not the natural order of things. It can be exhausting but more than anything it can just be so lonely. when something magical happens and you have to tell yourself “don’t forget this” because theres no witness by your side. It’s so painful.”
However, her social media followers were quick to criticize her. While one said, “There is a difference between being a single mom and being a mom that is single,” the other commented, “You’ve been a single mom for what? 5 minutes. Come on now.” Following the social media backlashes, Timlin edited her post by replacing “single mom” with “co-parent.”
According to Page Six, in her divorce filing, she initially asked for the primary physical custody of their two daughters and asked for allowing White visitations. However, White responded by asking for co-parenting of the daughters to whom he is devoted.
‘Addison changed her Instagram post because it wasn’t accurate’
A source close to the estranged couple told Page Six that White was left “blindsided” by the Mother’s Day post saying, “Addison changed her Instagram post because it wasn’t accurate, a lot of people were like ‘what are you talking about?’” They further added, “Jeremy had no control about where he was filming. He filmed ‘The Bear’ in Chicago and any time he could, he came home. He is so involved in those girls’ lives, he adores his daughters.”
Why did Jeremy Allen and Addison Timlin split?
While the reason for their split has not been confirmed by the actors, a source close to them insinuated that there were “trust issues” involved. The insider told Entertainment Tonight that, "Jeremy Allen White and Addison were having trust issues during their relationship, that ultimately led to their divorce," before adding "They were attempting to work things out, but things became increasingly difficult for them, and they decided to split."
