SPARTA, TENNESSEE: The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) agents, in collaboration with White County deputies, are currently in the process of probing a shooting and the related suicide case of Javier Lopez Carmona.
The incident unfolded within a vehicle on the morning of August 21 along Highway 111 North.
Regrettably, one individual sustained injuries, while another tragically lost their life. Javier Lopez Carmona, 63, was identified as the man who took his own life.
Following a report, White County Sheriff’s deputies and officers from the Sparta Police Department promptly responded to the scene shortly after 8 am.

As per TBI, three men were traveling within a vehicle along Highway 111. One of the passengers in the car, identified as Javier Lopez Carmona, aged 63, initiated gunfire directed at another passenger within the vehicle.

Shortly after 8 am, deputies with the White County Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Sparta Police Department had responded to the reported shooting.
According to The Expositor, "Upon the arrival of law enforcement, officers observed Carmona raise a gun to his head and fire a shot. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The passenger who [was shot at] ran from the vehicle and has suffered non-life-threatening injuries."

Taking charge of the investigation, the Central Homicide Unit determined that the victim, who remains unidentified, suffered a fatal gunshot wound while inside a vehicle.
The alleged perpetrator, a 17-year-old boy, was identified as the individual responsible for the shooting, according to Ramirez, a representative from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
