HOUSTON, TEXAS: Police in Texas arrested a man of interest after he reportedly stabbed his girlfriend and her husband following a fight outside a restaurant, officials said.
According to the Houston Police Department (HPD), Micah Eckert, 25, approached a woman he was dating and her husband in a restaurant parking lot just before 11 am on Friday, October 20.
Eckert allegedly stabbed both victims following an altercation.
The victims are in stable condition
Police said that the 44-year-old female and 42-year-old male victims were transported to area hospitals and are now in stable condition, Fox News reports.
“Officers responded to a stabbing call at a restaurant parking lot,” said HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective J. Ali. “They were advised two persons had been stabbed after the male victim got into a physical altercation with Eckert that escalated when Eckert stabbed the male and his wife.”
Ali added, “A security guard in an adjacent property detained Eckert until officers arrived. It was learned that Eckert was dating the female victim and was confronted by the woman’s husband.”
What charges does Eckert face?
According to the police, Eckert was subsequently charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
He was booked into the Harris County Jail. Eckert has since been released from the jail on bonds totaling $100,000.

Enyerbe Hose Briceno Gonzalez, 21, was drinking with his mistress and some other people in the parking lot of a San Antonio apartment building on June 14 when his wife showed up and started a fight, the reports mentioned.
The report suggests that the wife, whose name was not released, hit the unidentified mistress and left to get her husband's clothes.
When she returned, she threw them at him, the reports say.
During the fight, Brian Josette Rivero-Montilla, 28, who was part of the group, said he returned with a gun.
Police say that the suspect hit the victim over the head with the butt of the gun before shooting the victim.
According to the reports, Gonzalez fell to the ground, and Rivero-Montilla ran to his car to drive off.
