Who is Megan Imirowicz? Teenager who killed her own father by throwing lye at him quotes Bible in court

GROVELAND TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN: A young woman has been awarded a year behind prison cells along with five years of probation for taking the life of her father. Megan Imirowicz was sentenced after being found guilty of unlawful possession or use of harmful devices/irritants causing death. She reportedly looked shattered and got emotional during her sentencing on Tuesday, July 25, as she went on to quote Bible and continued to claim her innocence.

The 19-year-old told the court while referring to the Holy book, “The evil are ensnared by the transgressions of their lips, but the righteous escape from trouble.” She went on to refuse being identified as “some monster, something I’m far from,” before adding, “I am the best parts of him. I am his daughter. But without him, I don’t know who I am anymore.”

However, prosecutors have asserted that she is indeed a cold-hearted killer, who even after committing the crime has continued to ignore its seriousness. They also stated that Megan is always attempting to play down her guilt, Law & Crime reported.

Who is Megan Imirowicz?

Megan is a convicted criminal responsible for killing her father, Konrad Imirowicz. As per The Sun, on October 1, 2021, she threw lye powder mixed with water at Konrad after getting into an argument with him. At the time, the 64-year-old man was intoxicated. A few days later, the teen was arrested after the victim landed in the hospital because of severe burns to his head, torso, and other parts of his body. However, she eventually got released after paying the $75,000 bond.

Konrad reportedly spent several months in the hospital before being discharged in early March last year. But on March 6, the man breathed his last after suffering from the amputation of both legs, skin grafts, and kidney dialysis as well as numerous infections due to the chemical burn from the lye mixture.

‘This is a serious crime’

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen D McDonald has commented on the case, calling it “tragic”. She said, “This is a tragic case. The defendant lashed out in anger and wound up killing her father.” She also stated, “I commend the prosecution team for the tremendous work that went into the prosecution and securing justice for the victim in this case.”

Judge Victoria Valentine also added while sentencing Megan, “This is a serious crime that you have been found guilty of. The court does not believe that a child your age knew or understood the consequences of throwing the items at your father or the damage it would cause him. I expect you to do good things Ms Imirowicz…carry on your father’s name.”
