LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Reboots can often be a hit or a miss, so when ‘Magnum PI’ reboot was a raging success among fans, everyone wanted more, including the cast. However, as per Deadline, in a shocking turn of events, ‘Magnum PI’ was axed by NBC after five glorious seasons, with Season 5 Part 2 officially being the final one. Each and every network has been apprehensive about renewals and picking up new shows amid the WGA writer’s strike, which could have led to this big decision being made.
Nevertheless, the upsetting news impacted fans and the cast of ‘Magnum PI’ who took to social media to express their sadness over the cancellation by NBC. Actor Martin Martinez, who played the role of Cade Jensen in the reboot, begged for the show to be saved again, given that the show was canceled once, saved, and then canceled again. It must’ve been a rollercoaster ride, but will Martinez’s request get through NBC?
Who is Martin Martinez?
Born in Sacramento, California, Martinez started acting at 16. After being in the business for six years, the 22-year-old has accumulated quite a few roles against his name, including ‘Magnum PI’, ‘NCIS: Hawai'I’, ‘Pachinko’, ‘Never Have I Ever’ and ‘Primo.’ It is highly likely that Martinez’s fans will get to see more of him in the second season of ‘Primo’ although the show hasn’t been renewed yet.
‘Can #MagnumPI be saved again?!?’
After NBC axed ‘Magnum PI’ after renewing it, Martinez clearly went through a rollercoaster of emotions, much like the other cast members and his fans. Martinez took to Twitter to express his thoughts. “Damn. Can #MagnumPI be saved again?!? I just wanted to say thank you to the entire team for having me as part of this Ohana, I’ve gotten so many messages on how Cade’s storyline has resonated with so many. Grateful to the cast and crew for the journey. And the LOVE from the fans.” Looks like Martinez isn’t ready to let go of his character just yet, but given his impressive career trajectory, newer roles will start flowing in, in no time. But the million-dollar question remains, can ‘Magnum P.I.’ be saved again?
