BROOKLYN, NEW YORK: As the tragic story of Ryan Carson's senseless killing unfolds, the spotlight has turned to Claudia, his grief-stricken girlfriend who witnessed the horrific attack and desperately pleaded for mercy moments before Ryan was fatally stabbed.
Ryan, a 32-year-old activist, met a horrifying end when he was brutally stabbed multiple times in the chest, with the blade piercing his heart during an unprovoked attack at 4 am near Lafayette Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard in Brooklyn.
The evening prior, Ryan and Claudia had shared moments of joy at a wedding and Claudia posted a heartwarming image of the couple smiling together at the nuptials just hours before the tragedy struck.
Ryan Carson and Claudia's nightmarish encounter
The assailant, wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt with his hood up, confronted the couple at the bus stop with aggressive language, asking, "What the f**k are you looking at?" Footage of the incident captured in security cameras shows the assailant kicking over scooters before directing his rage towards the couple.
In the video, the attacker could be heard making death threats while Ryan desperately pleaded with him and raised his hand in a futile attempt to protect himself. Claudia, Ryan's girlfriend, could be heard in the security footage shouting, "Please, please, please!" as she implored the attacker to spare them, per Daily Mail.
Tragically, Ryan fell over the bench he had been sitting on and the assailant knocked him to the ground and continued to inflict multiple stab wounds. Afterward, the attacker callously spat on Claudia, kicked Ryan's lifeless body, and then walked away, leaving a scene of horror and disbelief behind.
Claudia's heartbreaking vigil
Claudia held her fatally wounded partner in her arms until he was taken to Kings County Hospital Center, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries. The day after the devastating incident, Claudia shared a screenshot of a note she discovered in Ryan's phone.
The note contained a heartfelt message that read, "When you get right down to it, all I want is to love Claudia more than she's ever been loved, which is frankly all she's ever deserved."
Alongside the screenshot, Claudia added a caption saying, "I found this note in Ryan's phone. He did, he did, he did." As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
