CLERMONT COUNTY, OHIO: An Ohio father accused of taking the lives of his three young sons reportedly “planned” the murders for “several months’ before carrying them out. Chad Doerman allegedly fatally shot the children of ages 3, 4, and 7 Thursday afternoon, June 15, after lining them up. He also injured the children’s mother as she tried to save them.
The 32-year-old man is currently housed in the Clermont County jail on a $20 million cash bond after being charged with aggravated murder. David Gast, an assistant Clermont County prosecutor, told the court, as reported by WCPO news, “This is the most serious offense that we have on the books, judge. This is it. You can't commit a more serious offense.”
‘Evil horror’
It has been said that when authorities reached the crime scene, they discovered all of his sons’ bodies in the home’s yard. The Clermont County Sheriff's Office shared that all possible steps taken to save their lives proved unsuccessful. Gast said, “The trauma that this man has inflicted on his family, community, law enforcement, first responders, and all the rest of us is unspeakable. There has been a full admission in this case, the case is still new we’re still discovering facts. But the evil horror of what we know is impossible to process.”
He continued, “In an act of incomprehensible cruelty, the father that stands before you lined up his three young boys and executed them in his own home with a rifle. In an act of desperation, the mother at some point grabbed the gun the father was wielding to attempt to protect them.”
Referring to the first responders, Gast also noted, “They held these children knowing there was nothing they could do. How do you unsee that sort of abomination? This was the man that every day they woke up looking to for protection, love, and guidance in all things. He was their world, he was their guardian and he executed them in cold blood.”
‘Their mother saw this’
Clermont County Prosecutor Mark Tekulve added, “I can only imagine the terror these little boys felt and experienced as their father, their protector was murdering them. Unfortunately, their mother saw this. You can imagine the immense trauma and terror that she experienced and we will do the utmost in my office to see this defendant never see the light of day again.”
Meanwhile, one of Doerman's neighbors explained, “I was sitting in the garage, and all of a sudden, I hear ‘boom, boom’ and like five more, and I was like, ‘That’s seven shots.’ I’m shaking. It was a lot. It was bad.”
