MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA: Brittany Holbrook, a 33-year-old Florida woman was arrested for the alleged murder of her 30-year-old boyfriend, Tyler Kinnon Nulisch, in their Key West residence on June 17, 2023. According to friends of the victim, Holbrook had drunkenly admitted to planning to butcher her ex-boyfriend "like she was gutting a deer" in the days leading up to the tragic incident.
Holbrook initially told the police that the shooting happened during a "gap in her memory." However, she later changed her statement and claimed that Nulisch had been attacking her, per Fox News. Prior to the incident, Holbrook allegedly revealed her violent intentions during a night out with a woman who was dating one of Nulisch's friends, as recounted by Jessica Stiegel, another friend of Nulisch's.
'I'm going to kill him and take a knife into his stomach'
"I'm going to kill him and take a knife into his stomach and rip upward to his throat," Stiegel said the woman recounted to her. "It was like she was describing gutting a deer." According to Stiegel, Holbrook's demeanor changed drastically when she drank, shifting from being friendly to exhibiting concerning behavior. "She seemed so normal most of the time but when she drank, she’d become a monster and a switch would flip, and she’d start screaming and throwing things and hitting Tyler," she said. "They were in love. Everyone saw this. They seemed like the perfect couple," Stiegel added.
Unfortunately, their hopeful future came to an abrupt end on the morning of June 17 when their roommate, Jordan Kinn, was awakened in their second-floor apartment by Holbrook's desperate screams for help. Kinn, filled with panic, urgently questioned Nulisch about what happened while desperately attempting to stop the flow of blood. "That bi**h shot me in the back," Nulisch replied before losing consciousness and dying, according to the police report.
