NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Antoine Amira, the French YouTuber who interviewed Gilgo Beach murders suspect Rex Heuermann for his YouTube channel Bonjour Reality last year, recently shared how the alleged serial killer had an "imposing presence" and "distinct physical appearance." Amira said that Heuermann "was very knowledgeable and very detail-oriented" and claimed that the alleged criminal stood out for his "attention to details."
Speaking about Heuermann's personality, Amira told CBS News, "Intimidating? No. Imposing? Very." He also mentioned that Heuermann was a "very large person" and had his head above the YouTuber. Amira added, "I still remember his handshake when we met... very strong, a very strong handshake. It was like you were shaking a very thick piece of marble, that's how strong his hand was."
Amira also addressed Heuermann's arrest and said, "The human nature is fascinating 'cause you never know who you have in front of you. It's very unsettling at the same time but also fascinating." Heuermann was charged with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of second-degree murder for the deaths of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman and Amber Costello and is considered the prime suspect in the murder of Maureen Brainard-Barnes, also known as "The Gilgo Four."
