TAMPA, FLORIDA: Former NFL star Antonio Brown is once again in legal trouble as he is now taken into custody in Florida for unpaid child support for his daughter Antanyiah.
Antanyiah, who is one of Brown's five children, often competes in track races and is a young athlete.
Being a track-and-field star, the 15-year-old has already received interest from several universities, including Oregon and Miami.
Antonio Brown was detained outside his Dania Beach house
On Sunday, October 16, Brown, was booked in a jail in Broward County. The 35-year-old was then released on $14,000 bond.
According to the New York Post, the football wide receiver was detained outside his Dania Beach house after he entered a taxi cab on a warrant issued by the Miami-Dade Police Department.
Antonio Brown's wife said he was 'making a mockery out of the judge.'
Brown's wife Wiltrice Jackson, with whom he shared Antanyiah, recently told TMZ that the athlete owed about $31,000.
"I do want him arrested. Because, right now, he’s making a mockery out of the judge, out of everything, because he feels like he’s untouchable," Jackson said.
Speaking to the outlet, Jackson further added that she wanted Brown to be an "an involved father."
"By him having a daughter like an athlete like her, you would think he’d be in her corner to support her," she said.
In August, Florida police had been ordered to take Brown into custody for failing to pay child support.
Antonio Brown's controversial past
According to TMZ, the footballer faced allegations of pushing his ex-fiance Jackson to the ground during a dispute. However, he was not arrested for this claim.
In 2018, Brown who reportedly endangered a young child on a patio after he threw furniture off the balcony of his apartment in Florida was sued and was resolved through an out-of-court settlement.
The same year, Victor Prisk, a Pittsburgh-based doctor who worked with Brown during his tenure with Steelers sued the player for allegedly "farting in his face" and for failing to pay fees totaling $11,500.
Three years later, a security guard accused Brown of reportedly assaulting him at his home in Florida in 2021.
He was also accused of appearing naked in front of a woman in the pool area of Dubai's Armani Hotel in 2022.
Following an incident in which Brown reportedly threw a shoe at his ex during a dispute, he was charged with domestic violence in December 2022.
