PALM COAST, FLORIDA: A 32-year-old woman from Florida, Amy Marie Kemper was arrested for taking her son to a hotel room where she drank, snorted cocaine, used marijuana, and engaged in "group sex" with two men.
One of whom died overnight only feet away from where the 11-year-old was sleeping, according to authorities.
Kemper was charged with one count of child negligence without serious bodily injury in connection with the lewd event, according to court records obtained by Law&Crime.
Where did the incident occur?
According to a probable cause affidavit, officers from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office and emergency medical professionals responded to a medical issue at the Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa in the 100 block of 16th Road East in Palm Coast on the morning of September 10 about 9:39 am.
Paramedics arrived on the site and began life-saving efforts on a 60-year-old unresponsive adult man.
The individual was pronounced dead after "extensive life-saving measures" were exhausted.
Kemper told deputies that she had been staying in the hotel room with the deceased guy and another 52-year-old male.
Kemper was also accompanied on the scene by her 11-year-old son, according to the affidavit. The reason of death was unknown at the time.
Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said in a statement, “A woman thought it was okay to bring her child to a resort in the middle of the night so she could engage in narcotic use and sexual activities."
“Unfortunately, her son was stuck alone in the room with the deceased male for several hours until she came back."
What happened to Amy Marie Kemper?
Kemper told investigators that she met five guys the night before at a pub and stayed until approximately 2 am before picking up her kid from his grandmother's residence and returning to the hotel room.
They all drank, smoked, and did cocaine until three of the guys departed so she and the remaining two men "could have group sex" in the room.
Inside the room, authorities discovered marijuana, Viagra pills, burnt blunts, and a silver tray containing a white powdered material that seemed to be cocaine.
“It is also important to note that numerous sex toys were located in the bathroom and condom wrappers were located around the bed”, the document states.
According to investigators, it is "important to note that [Kemper's son] was left alone in the hotel room with the unresponsive [60-year-old], drug paraphernalia, and sex items for numerous hours."
DCF arrived on the scene and seized custody of the 11-year-old boy. Kemper was taken into custody and sent to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility for booking.
As of the afternoon of September, she was still being held on a $15,000 bail.
She has been instructed not to contact her son until the conclusion of her lawsuit or a future court ruling.
