KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Taylor Swift and her rumored boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, apparently surrounded his property with yellow and blue crime scene tapes to keep trick-or-treaters away from his house on Halloween day.
A security guard was also posted to ward off people from the NFL star's home.
On October 30, Swift apparently flew to Kansas City in her private jet to console Travis after the Chiefs lost to the Denver Broncos. She reached his home at noon along with a security motorcade and was not seen outside till she left on November 1 morning, as per Daily Mail.
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift apparently holed up in the mansion
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift seemingly wanted to spend some alone time before the singer heads to Argentina to continue the international leg of her Eras Tour on November 9.
While the NFL star had previously hinted about hosting a dinner party on Halloween, the couple appeared to have the day to themselves.
Even though security said that there was no one inside Travis' home, parents and children strolling around the property believed they were indeed inside as they saw lights in some of the rooms.
Many parents responded to the Daily Mail when asked how they felt about the bizarre Halloween situation. "I don't get why he's sitting in the car telling us nobody's home, when clearly they are," said one mom to the media outlet, and added, "Why don't they just not answer the door."
"They're not handing out candy, you believe that? Well, we know they're lying. Swifty is here," said another mother.
While Travis' act of cordoning off his home may come as a shocking move, his family members have been concerned for the NFL star's safety ever since the duo went public with their relationship.
In an October 22 interview with NBC Sports, his brother, Jason Kelce, said, "This is another level of stardom that typically football players don't deal with."
He continued, "On one hand, I'm happy for my brother that he seems to be in a relationship that he's excited about [and] that he is genuine about. But there's another end of it where it's like, 'Man, this is a lot'."
Even Travis' parents, Ed Kelce and Donna Kelce, seem to be "overwhelmed" by the media attention and fanfare toward the Chiefs player. The NFL star supposedly even bought a $6 million house outside Kansas City for security purposes after starting his romance with Swift.
Internet slams Travis Kelce for cordoning off his home
Social media users voiced their annoyance towards Travis Kelce for his extreme attempt to keep trick-or-treaters away from his house.
One said, "Aren't trick-or-treaters supposed put toilet paper in the trees then? Or worse yet, that nail in the board + dog poop + newspaper on fire, ring the door-bell thing?"
Another criticized Kelce, saying, "Couldn't the maid and butler, in concert with the chauffeur and landscaper, have handed out some penny candy 'n cake crumbs to the poor children on All Hallows Eve for God's sake? Sheesh!"
"On one hand, I don't blame them…people might crowd at his front porch for a chance to see Taylor, but on the other hand- they're rich enough to hire a person to distribute candy while Travis & Taylor stay at the far end of the huge house and watch TV," said a person.
