SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears’ ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, 51, who currently works as a security consultant and has since settled in California, dropped a bombshell revelation on Friday saying that the singer longs to become the mother of a daughter, as per The US Sun.
Ghalid and Britney dated in the months leading up to her being placed in a controversial mental health conservatorship under her father in 2008.
What did Adnan Ghalib reveal about Britney Spears wanting to have a daughter?
Adnan Ghalib spoke candidly about how during his time with Britney Spears she seemed very keen on having more children.
He believes Britney wanted a daughter to make up for the poor relationship with her mother, Lynne Spears.
"She wanted a baby girl. I feel she felt her mom was not the mother she expected and so she wanted to rectify that in her life. She liked the idea of having a daughter being raised in the way she dreamed, in a normal suburban setting," said Ghalib, as per The US Sun.
He also claimed Britney never told him that she had previously had an abortion. This would be the time when the pop star dated Justin Timberlake in the year 2000 when they were just 19.
But he noted that she was very open and honest about the scars she was carrying from having lost custody of her two sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline in 2008.
Ghalib claims it was very clear to him that she had a strong desire to be a mother again, recounting, "As far back as I can remember, the one thing she wanted more than anything was to have more children alongside being a mother to the boys. Starting a new family and having a child with me would be different than having her two sons."
"It wasn't about her neglecting those boys. It was more a case of she thought that if we had a kid, then it would be a normal family. She wanted to be away from the exterior entity or forces that felt were in control of her life,” referring to her father who put her in an unjust conservatorship at the time," added Britney's ex-boyfriend.
He further claimed, "She wanted a house in Texas, not LA - and a reclamation of that control because it would be our child together. It would get that fulfillment that she was deprived of, which was having a child in the house that she could be a mom to every day."
"The child that we’d have was not going to be taken away like her sons. She was always longing and pining to spend time with those boys," stated Ghalib.
He also revealed that Britney was "over the moon" the time she thought she was pregnant with his child during a getaway in Mexico in early 2008.
"We had a mini break, which was fabulous, where she seemed to getting back on track and ready to show the judge she was fit to get her kids back. She told me: ‘I am in love you’ and told me: ‘I think I am pregnant’," claimed Ghalib.
He expressed, "She seemed very excited about it, and I knew she would want to keep the child. I could see in her eyes the excitement was consuming her. We rushed to a pharmacy to get a test, but it proved negative."
"I could see her heart sink, and she was quiet for the rest of the day. She was shocked because she told me she had the same feelings and symptoms as she had before when carrying both Sean and Jayden," added the security consultant.
Ghalib wished her former girlfriend well and hoped she could move on and be happy in her life, saying, "I know she wants more children and is desperate to find the right person to settle down with. I hope she meets the man, who truly makes her happy."
Speaking on the revelations made by Britney, he said, "Being denied more having kids by exterior forces, through these contraception devices, is cutthroat and emotionally disgusting. It’s right that Britney and her body are no longer a prisoner."
"Now she can search for ultimate happiness because under that control she was not allowed to be happy - that was hard," concluded Ghalib.
Britney Spears reflects on her time with Adnan Ghalib
In her new tell-all memoir, 'The Woman in Me', which hits the shelves on Tuesday, October 24, Britney Spears discusses her and Adnan Ghalib's relationship without mentioning him by name.
She noted how he had previously worked as a paparazzi photographer but liked him because he was "chivalrous and helped me out when the others got too aggressive."
Britney also claimed that she was unaware that ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib was already married when she began dating the paparazzo. In an exclusive from her memoir, the pop star admitted that she had "no clue" she was Ghalib’s "mistress" when the pair began their romance in late 2007.
She apparently found out about his spouse after the couple called it quits in 2008.
While Britney was seeing the photographer, she was in the middle of her divorce from Kevin Federline and navigating being co-parents for their sons, Jayden James Federline and Sean Preston Federline.
After their breakup, Ghalib was allegedly handed a restraining order from Britney's father and his team of lawyers, which was kept in place till 2012.
