Ryan Hurd ‘wasn’t expecting’ Maren Morris to seek divorce
Hurd and Morris, 33, who got married in 2018 after getting engaged in 2017, separated early this month.
From the court document obtained by Us Weekly, it was revealed that the Grammy-winning musician Morris filed for divorce on October 2 citing “irreconcilable differences."
Hurd, however, “wasn’t expecting it.” A source told Us Weekly that Morris’s decision to file for divorce “seems to have come out of the blue.”
The source further claimed that Hurd and Morris are “opposites,” which probably made the situation “difficult.”
Another source close to the couple revealed to Daily Mail that Hurd is “heartbroken” with the shock split.
The source revealed, “Ryan still loves Maren and is not taking the divorce that well. He is heartbroken.”
Ryan Hurd’s career so far
While Hurd’s debut album was released in 2017, he has been part of the musical scene since 2013.
In 2013, Hurd met Morris during a songwriting session for country singer Tim McGraw where they co-wrote ‘Last Turn Home’.
He also co-wrote the song ‘Intoxicated’ with the band Hinder in 2014 and it was released as the third single from their 2015 album ‘When the Smoke Clears’.
Hurd also boasts writing credit for Blake Shelton and Ashley Monroe’s 2015 smash hit ‘Lonely Tonight’ which was No 1 Country Airplay single.
In 2017, Hurd signed with Sony Music Nashville and released his self-titled debut album.
Sony Music Nashville's chairman and CEO Randy Goodman showed faith in the then newcomer and said in an interview with Country Music Rocks, "I'm convinced Ryan Hurd will be one of our new artist breakouts in 2017," and added, "He delivers on every level from his innovative songwriting to his dynamic live show."
His first single from his self-titled EP, ‘We Do Us’ became a smash hit with millions of streams on Spotify.
Hurd was also placed on Rolling Stone’s 'Artists You Need to Know' list of 2016. His single titled ‘Love in the Bar’ also became very popular.
Hurd recorded his duet ‘Chasing After You’ with Morris. The song was also Hurd’s first song to be placed in the Top 10 hits on the Country charts and reached No 23 on the Hot 100.
Maren Morris has an estimated net worth between $5 to $8 million, according to Life & Style.
