What is 'mommy makeover'?
A mommy makeover reportedly means going under the knife for getting the desired look after giving birth. According to The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, it “includes some form of breast surgery and a tummy tuck. As the moniker implies, the procedure first came about as a means for women to rejuvenate the body areas that were most impacted by motherhood.”
“The goal of the mommy makeover is to restore a more lifted, youthful look to your body contour. This may require excising excess skin, removing unwanted fat, increasing breast volume with a breast implant, and/or addressing volume loss with fat grafting,” it added.
Celebrities who have done ‘mommy makeover’
Jacky Oh was not the only one who went for such a procedure. Reports have said that television personality Kate Gosselin also went for it after giving birth to eight children, including sextuplets. Actress and comedian Patricia Helen Heaton has done a ‘mommy makeover’ too.
She told PEOPLE in 2018, “I think there’s good plastic surgery and bad plastic surgery. I had four C-sections. I gained 50 lbs. with every kid and I’m 5’2”. Wasn’t pretty. It just does something to your body. I was really in the prime of my career when that was all going on, so it just felt better and made me more confident to reconstruct my stomach, take care of all that stuff.”
