LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Stevan Ridley empathizes with Kevin Hart, while also carrying a touch of guilt. The former NFL player took to social media to express his sentiments and apologize to the star comedian. “I saw [Tom Brady] do it at your age so I figured you had the juice too big bro,” Ridley wrote on his Instagram Story on Thursday, August 24.
Ridley further added, “My bad. Heal up and keep making us all laugh.” The two went for a race, which didn’t end that well for the ‘Jumanji’ star.
Hart tore his lower abdomen and adductor muscles during the 40-yard dash. In an Instagram video, Hart shared that he is in a wheelchair, “Guys, I blew all my s—t.” “Tore my lower abdomen, my abductors are torn — I don’t even know what that is, but I tore ’em. … I can’t walk!” he told his fans in the video.
Why did Kevin Hart and Stevan Ridley race?
The duo decided to settle the debate for good over who was faster among the two. Hart called himself the ‘dumbest man alive’ after injuring himself during the race, reports PageSix.
“I tried to jump out there and do some young stuff … and I was told to sit my ass down,” he further said.
What advice did Kevin Hart share?
Kevin Hart took a few notes from his failed race and also advised people over 40, to ‘respect your age.’ “Ladies and gentlemen, the age 40 is real. Respect that age or that age will make you respect it,” he said before adding “I was just forced to respect it. Sit my ass down. This is 44.”
Several fans reacted to Hart's attempt to race a former elite NFL player, "What is he doing racing an NFL player to begin with," wrote one user. "This sends a bad message…Kevin took the vaccine and eats poorly…44 isn’t old…it’s only old if you beat your body down with bad food and substances," a critic said.
Another fan reacted to Hart's Instagram post, "40 is the new 70… It’s Thursday and Kevin Hart has me cracking up as I drink my coffee and that’s a good thing…"
A user observed, "OK ok as a 45-year-old - NEGATIVE - it doesn’t matter what age you are - don’t get out there doing something YOU ARE NOT TRAINED OR USED TO DOING. That’s it. How is he thinking he racing a former NFL player? "
