What did Carlee Russell's ex say about her fake kidnapping? Thomar Simmons opens up about feeling 'blindsided'

HOOVER, ALABAMA: Thomar Latrell Simmons, who earlier appealed for support regarding her now ex-girlfriend's kidnapping, has finally reacted to her fake abduction. “Carlee’s actions created hurt, confusion, and dishonesty,” he said in a statement on his Instagram account.

In his interview with New York Post last weekend, Simmons asked people to stop attacking her online, "The only thing I can say is, I want everyone to stop bullying her. I know what it seems like what she did. Just stop bullying on social media. Think about her mental health. She doesn't deserve that. She doesn't. Nobody deserves to be cyberbullied."

What did Carlee Russell's ex-boyfriend say about her fake kidnapping?

Carlee Russell made up her own abduction story and claimed she was taken away by a white man with orange hair on July 13. At present, her ex-boyfriend Thomar Latrell Simmons issued a statement, “I was made aware of the false narrative after coming to the defense of my ex Carlee Russell. Myself and my family’s nature was to react in love, and genuine concern. We are disgusted from the outcome of this entire situation. I strongly feel exactly like you all, blindsided with Carlee’s actions.” He further said in an Instagram post, “This is still an ongoing investigation but with all of the recent information and her confession now we gain closure with this situation. Thank you to all my family, friends, and the nation for support through this.”

He also expressed gratitude towards Angela Haley and her team, “I also want to send my prayers and thanks to Ms. Angela Haley Harris, her team and all of the volunteers. Thank you again for your unwavering support. The severity in this matter has not been overlooked, and I deeply respect the genuine support shared during this situation.”

'Did not leave the Hoover area'

Carlee Russell’s attorney released a statement on Monday, July 24, "My client did not see a baby and did not leave the Hoover area. She did not have an accomplice, she was not in a hotel or was with anyone while she was missing," reports People.

Simmons had previously posted on his Instagram, (now deleted) “I was straight tunnel vision, even when I would get on social media on my downtime & see some of the false allegations & assumptions about me having something to do with her abduction would have me discouraged at times, but I didn’t give up & kept my faith!”
