'They still need her': Kim Cattrall's 'stipulations' for 'And Just Like That' cameo revealed

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the second season of the 'Sex and the City' remake 'And Just Like That...', Kim Cattrall finally makes a return as the popular "trysexual" Samantha Jones. Fans of the sequel series missed Kim Cattrall in season 1. After engaging in a highly publicized argument with Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, the actress decided to leave the program.

A source recently claimed that the actress only consented to appear in Season 2 under specific terms. Cattrall's decision to not reprise her part as Samantha Jones in the third 'Sex and the City' film appears to be the cause of the ongoing conflict, as per reports.

Kim's Samantha was neatly cut off

It was later discovered that the conflict between the co-stars was brought on by Kim's perception that she was not being paid fairly given that Parker received a higher salary than the other leading women. When writers chose to take the storyline in a path that portrayed Carrie and Samantha fighting while the latter opted to relocate to London permanently, Kim's character Samantha was neatly cut off from the series, as reported by PageSix.

'Kim had two stipulations'

Even though Samantha just had a cameo, the announcement of her arrival in 'And Just Like That's second season thrilled the audience. The actress had two conditions before she could be on the show, a source told PageSix. She agreed to a clause that ensured she didn't have to speak with the showrunner, Michael Patrick King. According to the source, "Kim had two stipulations -—one, that she would not act with any of the other girls, and two, she did not want to see Michael Patrick King," as per reports.

'It just shows the power of Kim'

"She will have gotten a s–tload of money. It just shows the power of Kim," the source added. "They still need her on the show. But even though this may get fans thinking she'll be back for the next season, she'll never do that. She was treated poorly," as reported by PageSix.

The insider revealed how the cameo came to be by saying, "I'm glad she gets to be the hero … I'm sure it took a lot of massaging to make the cameo happen." 'Sex and The City' author Candace Bushnell seemed to verify this when she said, "I'm sure she got paid handsomely … Kim is a grown woman, and she does things on her own terms," as per reports.
