NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘The View’ host Ana Navarro made it to The Hollywood Reporter’s list of 'The Most Powerful Latin Players in Film, TV, and Music', alongside names like America Ferrera, Bad Bunny, Guillermo del Toro and Selena Gomez amongst others.
Navarro received appreciation from her co-hosts on ‘The View,’ as she also took to Instagram to express her gratitude for the same.
However, as the news was shared on X, several people expressed their disappointment over it.
Ana Navarro thanks The Hollywood Reporter
On Instagram, ‘The View’ host Ana Navarro shared a screenshot of her section on The Hollywood Reporter and wrote, “Thank you, @hollywoodreporter for including me. Humbled to be on same list of legendary, trailblazing, bad-ass Hispanics making a difference in Hollywood.”
She added, “There’s a lot of work to be done to achieve equity and true representation. But we should also recognize and celebrate the progress. Just a few years ago, there would not have been enough names to compile a list like this.”
On their website, The Hollywood Reporter wrote, “The political strategist turned commentator speaks to a significant demographic that continues to be underestimated and overlooked by mainstream media: right-leaning Latinos, whose numbers have once again grown since the 2020 election.”
They added, “The Republican’s profile has risen steadily over the past decade through regular news and opinion show appearances, culminating in a permanent seat at the zeitgeist table, The View, for which she has received two Daytime Emmy nominations.”
In addition, the news was also announced on ‘The View’ by Joy Behar as Navarro expressed how “humbled” she was.
Ana Navarro faces backlash on social media
As ‘The View’ hosts and audience hailed Ana Navarro for her recent achievement, she faced some backlash on social media for the same.
One user wrote, “Scary! She's full of hate and constantly dividing our country! Why are you celebrating this person who contributes nothing to advance and uplift our country!”
“Was she the only one running?” joked one user, and another wrote, “That is bulls**t.”
One user wrote on X, “Makes sense her whole personality is pretend,” and another said, “She’s an awful human being.”
Navarro continued to face backlash on the social media platform, as one user wrote, “I’m a Latino woman and Ana does not represent me. She’s a loud mouth, vulgar, insufferable being who behaves with zero class.”
