LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Cardi B made headlines on Saturday, July 28, 2023, after a video of her live performance in Las Vegas went viral. As the rapper performed on stage, a concertgoer threw water at her and in turn, she chucked her mic at the said person. This video took over the internet in no time, and as always, the people picked sides. On Sunday, ‘The View’ co-host Ana Navarro took to Twitter to express her thoughts about the viral incident involving Cardi B.
Navarro was in complete support of the American rapper’s retaliation but not everyone on the internet agreed with her. This was a change for Navarro who usually discusses politics, but she seemed to have landed on the bad side of the internet, who did not agree with Cardi B’s response of throwing her mic on someone.
‘That chick will beat you unconscious’
On Sunday, Navarro took to Twitter, asking people to stop harassing artists while they were performing. Navarro retweeted the viral video of Cardi B and wrote, “Folks, please this trend of trying to hit artists with objects mid-concert, must stop. It is assault. And trying to hit @iamcardib out of all people, strikes me as one of the stupidest things a human could do. That chick will beat you unconscious and not even break a nail.” However, people weren’t too pleased with Navarro’s tweet, as they claimed it was Cardi B who committed the “assault".
‘Are you pro-assault?’
The internet did not agree with Navarro calling the incident an “assault” as one person wrote, “Water? Is Assault? I agree it was wrong from the fan but water against a microphone? CardiB committed the assault.”
The social media users have also responded by talking about how Cardi B was lip-syncing during the live concert as one tweeted, “She's not even singing live, what a rip off. No wonder people are pissed." Another said, “This is terrible. She wasn’t singing at all.”
People are convinced Navarro is now "pro-assault" because of her latter half of the tweet as one person wrote, “So are you pro assault then? Or only when it’s coming from Cardi B?”
Of course, some people also mentioned Navarro’s political leaning as one tweeted, "Hi, I'm Ana and I'm totally a conservative Republican. No, really, I am. I also like to stick up for gross women that are the very worst role models for young women. Because that's what conservative Republicans do.”
While one user also mentioned ‘The View’ and said, “The View audience may chuck something at you.” Since then, Navarro hasn’t responded to any of the tweets or talked about Cardi B again.
