LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift has denied stories that she married ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn before their shocking split in early 2023. Now, the singer's longtime publicist Tree Paine has criticized one of the most popular online celebrity gossip accounts.
Swift's longtime publicist Tree Paine criticized the gossip website DeuxMoi on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, November 30, to dispel speculations that Swift ever got married or had a wedding ceremony with her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn.
Paine responded to a post on DeuxMoi which claimed that Swift had a "ceremony in either 2020 or 2021 in the UK and it was described to me as a 'marriage' by more than one person."
Swift — who is currently dating NFL player Travis Kelce — returned to Missouri after spending 12 hours in London, per Daily Mail.
'Enough is enough': Tree Paine slams 'insane' rumors
Slamming the pseudonymous Instagram account, Paine wrote on X: "Enough is enough with these fabricated lies about Taylor from Deuxmoi. There was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind."
She asserted that the outlet was "insane" for publishing anything different and that "there was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind."
"This is an insane thing to post. It’s time for you to be held accountable for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like these," Paine added.
The shocking claims were made in response to a published post about Swift by Deuxmoi — a well-known Instagram feed that re-posts blind articles about celebrities from unidentified sources.
According to the DeuxMoi post, Swift and Alwyn "DID have a ceremony in 2020 or 2021 in the UK and it was described to me as a 'marriage' by more than one person," adding, "It was NEVER made legal."
The dramatic social media account added, "I have no reason to lie, I could give a s**t what she does!!!!! I'm sorry she didn't tell you guys about it in a song but just because she doesn't sing about something doesn't mean it didn't happen!!!"
The initial DeuxMoi post was inspired by Swifties who went into a frenzy once 'You're Losing Me' was released on streaming services this week.
DeuxMoi responds to Tree Paine's charges
DeuxMoi also shared a comment that suggested Swift's song 'You're Losing Me' was motivated by a miscarriage that had strained relations between the now-ex couple. (DeuxMoi removed the post from their Instagram Stories after Paine's tweet).
DeuxMoi, who has two podcasts and published a book called 'Anon Pls' in 2022, responded in another deleted post, saying, "Well I make zero dollars from lying... can publicists say the same."
"Also, to relate something that is in reference to something that happened years ago to 'pain & trauma' after what just happened seems like a poor choice of words," the gossip account continued.
Deuxmoi apologized to Swift after Paine called them out, but also criticized the publicist for her "choice of words."
"Either way, I apologize to Taylor," DeuxMoi added, per People.
Online fans slam DeuxMoi and are 'glad' Tree Paine called them out
Internet users took to X and were quick to respond to the adored singer's wedding rumors while lambasting the celebrity gossip account.
One such user praised Paine for calling out DeuxMoi and wrote on X: "Tree don’t play about taylor and we LOVE to see it. deuxmoi is constantly posting rumors with no verified sources im glad she called them out!"
A second user slammed the online gossip account, "I'd rather believe in the tale of Taylor Swift secretly ruling a fairy kingdom. After all, that seems more plausible than Deuxmoi's wild stories!"
"Deuxmoi finally getting famous with mare rumors, lol. Now being called out by industry workers… TREE PAINE GAGGED THEM what a Smart move," chimed in a third one.
Another one noted, "Deuxmoi rumored about @taylorswift13 will only bring more light to her beam, at this time of hers. It can only make her to shine more brighter. Taylor has done a very wonderful job for herself and a legend has hit the spotlight. Ride on girl, you are doing great."
"Gossip spread faster than anything," wrote one more.
One more fan exclaimed, "TREE HAS SPOKEN EVERYONE ELSE CAN LEAVE OUR GIRL ALONE"
"Thank you, Tree. Deuxmoi is a disgusting entity. They need to get off their high horse," seethed another one.
