SAO PAULO, BRAZIL: Taylor Swift, the globally renowned pop star, wrapped up her final Eras Tour show of 2023 with a surprise that left her fans, affectionately known as Swifties, thrilled.
The final concert took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and featured an unexpected set of songs on Sunday, November 26.
Swift's performance at the Allianz Parque stadium was the 13th international stop on The Eras Tour and the final one until the tour resumes in February 2024.
Taylor Swift curated surprise songs for Swifties
Taylor Swift delighted the crowd with captivating renditions of 'Say Don't Go' and 'It's Time to Go' at the Allianz Parque stadium. Naturally, the concertgoers were reportedly filled with excitement as they experienced these songs performed live for the very first time, as mentioned by Billboard.
The heart-stirring ballad 'Say Don't Go', which Swift introduced live on guitar, was a collaborative effort with Diane Warren. It was recently unveiled in October as a vault track in '1989' (Taylor's Version).
Following this, the audience witnessed the concert premiere of 'It's Time to Go', a song the pop icon co-wrote with Aaron Dessner. The track was originally featured on the deluxe version of 'Evermore' and was performed on the piano for the first time during Sunday's show.
Having said that, even though the audience reportedly fervently chanted "Reputation" during her acoustic set, they weren't treated with any tracks from the hugely awaited album.
Swift has been delighting audiences with two surprise songs at each concert of The Eras Tour, making a conscious effort not to repeat them.
"There are some songs that I am really eager to perform," shared the 'Blank Space' during the latest concert. However, she clarified that upon resuming her tour in 2024, she intends to start afresh and "make all the songs fair game" again.
