NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘The View’ host Sunny Hostin recently revealed a new writing project away from the morning program to executive producer, Brian Teta on the show’s podcast, ‘The View: Behind the Table'.
The 54-year-old was delighted to share insights about her new writing project which involves a science fiction book.
Hostin spoke about her love for writing and the books she likes to read on the show’s podcast before revealing the big news about her career move away from 'The View.'

‘The View’ executive producer Brian Teta and Hostin started the podcast episode by talking about their favorite books.
During the podcast, Hostin spoke extensively about her passion for books and reading and disclosed how science fiction books really move and excite her.
This excitement led her to drop some information about her own writing career.
Teta asked, “As a writer, do you ever think about - I know mostly you do either your non-fiction, but also fiction that's inspired by real-life - would you ever write a sci-fi fantasy or something like that?”
Hostin instantly responded, “Well, Brian, I don't even know if I can say this but... my next book is a sci-fi book.”
‘The View’ producer was surprised to hear about Hostin’s writing endeavor and exclaimed, "Oh, wow! That's really exciting.”
On witnessing Teta’s reaction, Hostin joked, “Breaking news on the podcast."
Hostin then explained about her writing project and said, “Yeah, it's in the works, and the first book in the series will be called Almeetra.”
Teta was extremely impressed by Hostin’s new project and said, “Oh, alright, we'll take that as a tease, and we'll hear more about it. But that's really exciting.”

However, during the same episode, Hostin stepped in to support her fellow co-host Whoopi Goldberg after she expressed her dislike for when Teta uses music on the show to encourage the hosts to conclude their discussions quickly.
Speaking of how Goldberg is a veteran who has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award, Hostin told Teta, “Whoopi is an EGOT and you're playing her off like it's the Oscars.”
She added, “I just think it's rude, you don't do that to Whoopi or Joy [Behar]. Rude.”
Teta quipped at this remark, “What else am I supposed to do? I could get a siren?”
Hostin concluded the discussion by requesting Teta to cease the practice.
