LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pamela Anderson turned many heads at the recent Paris Fashion Week, not with her choice of outfit but with her makeup free look, as per PopSugar.
The original ‘Baywatch’ star didn’t plan on it though. In her interview with Vogue, she revealed, “I didn’t come to Paris Fashion Week and think ‘I’m not going to wear any makeup.’”
“Something just came over me and I was dressing in these beautiful clothes and I thought, ‘I don’t want to compete with the clothes.’ I’m not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room.”
Pamela Anderson said going makeup free felt 'like a relief'
Going makeup free felt ‘freedom’ and ‘like a relief,’ shared the 46-year-old.
The model-actress lost her makeup artist Alexis Vogel in 2019 and that’s when it occurred to her that she should drop putting on makeup for good.
“She was the best. And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it’s just better for me not to wear makeup,” Anderson told Elle.
“[It is ] freeing, and fun and a little rebellious too. Because I did notice that there were all these people doing big makeup looks, and it’s just like me to go against the grain and do the opposite what everyone’s doing,” Anderson said.
She added, “I think we all start looking a little funny when we get older. And I’m kind of laughing at myself when I look at the mirror. I go, ‘Wow, this is really...what’s happening to me?’ It’s a journey. But largely a happy one. I feel rooted for. I feel good. I’m in a good place.”
Scarlett Johansson praises Pamela Anderson's look, says it's a 'powerful message'
Now, the ‘Black Widow’ couldn’t help but praise the '90s icon. In her latest interview, Scarlett said, “I think it is definitely different to see somebody that’s in the public eye, a woman in the public eye, go to a fashion show or big event with no makeup on. It’s just very different from what we’re used to.”
“It’s a powerful message for women to see that, whether they follow suit or whatever the effect is, in the zeitgeist. It’s powerful for women to see other women rejecting standard beauty norms," she said.
Meanwhile, actor Jamie Lee, too, praised Anderson and lauded her in an Instagram post.
"THE NATURAL BEAUTY REVOLUTION HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN! @pamelaanderson in the middle of fashion week with so many pressures and postures, and and and, this woman showed up and claimed her seat at the table with nothing on her face. I am so impressed and floored by this act of courage and rebellion," the post read.
