HAYWARD, CALIFORNIA: Razma Mohammad-Ibrahim, a 35-year-old Hayward resident, and her young lover were arrested for her husband’s murder after she posted Selena Gomez's song 'Single Soon' on Instagram.
Mohammad-Ibrahim and 21-year-old Samim Azizi are reportedly accused of stabbing Parwiz Assar, 51, to death outside his home near Lance Way and Tucker Street.
Assar was found suffering from stab wounds on October 8 after Hayward Police responded to complaints of an attack with a dangerous weapon on the street. He was declared dead by medical personnel at the scene.
A few weeks after Assar’s death, Mohammad-Ibrahim was taken into custody and charged with his murder, as per the Hayward Police Department. She is being held at the Santa Rita County Jail, without bail and is due in court in December.
Meanwhile, her lover Azizi was arrested in connection to the killing in Seattle, Washington on October 31. He is being held without bail at the King County Jail as he awaits extradition to California, according to the NY Post.
How did police arrest Razma Mohammed-Ibrahim?
Mohammed-Ibrahim was taken into custody after police investigated a plethora of evidence including text conversations, phone records, surveillance footage, internet searches, and even a spooky post that was posted on her Instagram account.
As per Mercury News, on the day of Assar’s murder, his wife even posted Selena Gomez's song 'Single Soon' to her Instagram account.
Mohammad-Ibrahim and Assar had been married for 12 years, but recently had been experiencing marital issues, the police department noted.
These marital issues led Mohammad-Ibrahim to meet Azizi, with whom she had been sharing an intimate relationship since December 2022.
Authorities believe that the pair planned the attack to get Ramza out of her marriage, "have full custody of her children, and have all the family assets."
Text messages between the lovers included a discussion about how 'strong' the knife Azizi had selected the day before the killing was, according to Daily Mail.
How did Razma Mohammed-Ibrahim kill her husband?
Authorities reported that Azizi sent Mohammed-Ibrahim a picture of himself sitting in a bush outside the married couple's Hayward home before he reportedly sprung out and brutally stabbed Assar.
“Look where I am,” he allegedly texted Mohammed-Ibrahim to which she replied, “Be careful.” The Ring camera on the property captured the stabbing, which showed a guy in a mask emerge from the woods and strike Assar.
Mohammed-Ibrahim reportedly found her husband's body and ran to her neighbors’ door telling them they needed to call 911.
Shortly after, Mohammed-Ibrahim agreed to an interview at the Hayward police station, during which she purportedly refuted any marital issues or arguments over her extramarital affair.
However, according to police records, Hayward cops had been called to the residence for a domestic disturbance only two weeks before.
A friend of Assar's later came forward, telling investigators Assar had asked if he could stay at his home, fearing that his wife was planning to attack him, police said in court records.
