HARFORD COUNTY, MARYLAND: The sister of Rachel Morin, who was found dead near a hiking trail, recently shared a shocking behavioral profile that suggested the killer likely exhibits several psychopathic traits.
The 37-year-old mother-of-five was found dead along the MA & PA Heritage Trail in Bel Air, Maryland, just a day after she went missing on Saturday, August 5, when she left her house to take a hike
After Morin's death was determined to be a homicide, the Harford County Sheriff's Office launched an extensive manhunt for the murderer.
At the crime scene, investigators reportedly discovered a DNA sample, which led them to a suspect, who is wanted for a March home invasion and assault of a young girl in Los Angeles.
Authorities previously released footage of the unidentified suspect, who has been described as being "approximately 5ft 9 inches 160lbs, approximately 20-30 years of age, dark hair, muscular build and is believed to be of Hispanic decent.”
What psychopathic traits does Rachel Morin's killer possess?
While releasing the footage, Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler also delivered a stark warning, stating that Morin’s murderer could be a ‘serial killer’.
"Serial killers all start somewhere. What he did in Los Angeles was certainly, I believe, in that direction. I believe it was his intention to inflict more serious physical harm,” Gahler stated in a press conference.
Morin’s sister, Rebekah, has come forward to share a behavioral profile that suggested the killer likely exhibited several psychopathic traits, including the lack of empathy, compulsive lying, narcissism, and manipulation, per The Independent.
The outline, which was purportedly provided by criminal profiler Pat Brown, suggested that the suspect knew someone in Bel Air.
This may have helped explain how he managed to live in the close-knit neighborhood without setting off any alarms.
“The suspect would not be accounted for, either at work or home, sometime between 6.00pm and dusk on Saturday, August 5, 2023, when the attack happened,” the profile further read.
Can Rachel Morin's killer strike again?
In another interview, Rebekah expressed that she did not understand why someone had not come forward to identify the suspect.
“This guy is gonna do it again. … Somebody recognizes this guy,” Rebekah said during an exclusive interview to News Nation.
This came after investigators warned that Morin’s killer could strike again if not caught soon. “This guy is going to do it again. It could be your sister, your mother, your daughter,” Rebekah said.
“I’m really hoping that somebody comes forward soon. Somebody is brave enough to do what’s right,” she continued.
Rebekah also stated that Morin’s children were sad, angry and “don’t really understand.” “They really love their mother. They pray for her to come back. It’s been really hard on all of them,” she said.
Rebekah organized a GoFundMe in her sister’s honor, stating, "I have made a GoFundMe to help my mother, Patty Morin with funeral costs. There was no life insurance in place."
She continued, "This was not an accidental death, and she did not go willingly and she deserves a funeral worthy of her beauty."
She added, "If there are any remaining funds they will go towards things her 5 children may need. Please share, donate, comment, and keep this going."
