NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Good Morning America’ star Michael Strahan will finally return to the morning show on November 15 after missing nearly three weeks of his hosting duties, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The former NFL star last appeared on ‘GMA’ on October 26 with many questioning his prolonged absence from the morning show.
However, the reason behind his absence was revealed to be a “personal family matter” by ABC executives to the US Sun.
Michael Strahan’s return to ‘GMA’ is now certain
The TV personality will return to his position behind the studio desk for the Wednesday, November 15 broadcast.
Strahan has been making his way back to his duties as a television host at his various gigs recently.
He finally returned to Fox NFL Sunday (November 12) this week. He was absent from his Fox program for weeks 8 and 9, his last appearance on October 22.
Strahan is typically absent from the morning show on Mondays, as he is an analyst for Fox on Sundays, which films in California, and ‘GMA’ is in New York City.
During his absence, Linsey Davis, Rebecca Jarvis, and Juju Chang filled in for him.
After Strahan was absent for two weeks, a spokesperson for ABC revealed the real reason why he was out after hearing concerns from many fans and followers.
“Michael Strahan will not be with us this week as he is dealing with some personal family matters," they told The US Sun.
"We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns.”
Michael Strahan’s absence from social media also continues
The former NFL star doesn’t shy away from sharing on social media. He is usually quite active but the last post to his Instagram profile came over two weeks ago.
However, Strahan promoted his other hosting gig ‘The $100,000 Pyramid’ on the show’s Instagram handle.
‘The $100,000 Pyramid' posted photos of the November 1 episode on Instagram. Michael was seen in the photos with that night's celebrity guests - Rosie O'Donnell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Holly Robinson Peete, and her husband Rodney Peete.
The caption promised stars, prizes, and fun on the episode. In the pictures, the former footballer wore his typical formal wear. He donned a gray suit with a white striped shirt and floral tie.
For now, Strahan is expected to resume his duties as ‘GMA’ host on November 15.
