LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Amid Michael J Fox's battle with Parkinson's disease, he celebrated his son's 34th birthday. "Happy Birthday to my big bouncing baby boy @palekidd you are the best. Proud to be your pops," the 61-year-old actor captioned an Instagram post in which he wished his son Sam.

Among the carousel of pictures, one image showed the 'Back to the Future' star kissing Sam's cheek as he smiled. Other pictures showed the birthday boy in the middle of blowing out the candles on his cake and also of him spending time with his father on a boat in front of a waterfall.

'Happy Birthday to the absolute best son ever!'

Tracy Pollan who married the 'Family Ties' alum in 1988 also wished their eldest son on the special day. "Happy Birthday to the absolute best son ever! You fill my life with so much joy, humor, kindness, and random information that I never knew! I love you!," Pollan captioned her Instagram pictures that showed Sam riding a horse and also of her posing with him during a boat ride. Fox and Pollan also share daughter Esme, 21, and twins Aquinnah and Schuyler, 28, together.

'I’m not going to be 80'

Fox recently revealed his battle with Parkinson's disease for more than 30 years. The 'Spin City' actor said that the brain disorder which was diagnosed at the age of 29 and affects his motor skills and the nervous system was getting "harder," according to Page Six.

"[Parkinson’s] banging on the door … I’m not going to lie, it’s getting hard. It’s getting harder. It’s getting tougher. Every day it’s tougher … that’s the way it is." Fox underwent surgery to remove a benign tumor on his spine and following the procedure he has been having trouble walking and also has broken multiple bones.

"I’ve been thinking about the mortality of it … I’m not going to be 80. I’m not going to be 80," said the actor who began his career in the 1970s and quit acting in 2020 following his health issues," he added.

In his fourth book 'No Time Like the Future: An Optimist Considers Mortality', he revealed that "there is a time for everything, and my time of putting in a 12-hour workday, and memorizing seven pages of dialogue, is best behind me," the activist revealed in his fourth book." In 2000, he founded the Michael J Fox Foundation for research on the condition and has raised more than $1 billion.
