LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Marvel's next 'Fantastic Four' film has been gathering up some rumors about the casting choices, and it seems Pedro Pascal might not be a favorite among the fans.
According to Deadline, Pascal may be in talks to play the iconic role of Reed Richards, aka Mr Fantastic, in the upcoming movie, which would mark the debut of Marvel Comics' oldest superhero group in the MCU.
The character in question, however, has already had its first appearance in the MCU and was played by John Krasinski in the 2022 film, 'Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness', and fans can't wait to see him back on the screen.
John Krasinski's brief MCU appearance in 'Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness'
During John Krasinski's turn in the role of the genius scientist with stretching powers, Mr Fantastic was part of a group known as the Illuminati, whose members included a variant each of Prof Charles Xavier, Captain Marvel, Captain Carter, Mordo, and Black Bolt.
The group was working to protect the multiverse from any threats known or unknown and crossed paths with Dr Stephen Strange and Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) of the "sacred" MCU timeline.
In the end, the group was taken out by the Scarlet Witch, and the variant of Mr Fantastic was killed by being transformed into spaghetti.
Marvel never clarified whether 'The Office' star was a one-off fan service or if we would see more of Krasinski in other versions of the role in MCU as we move forward.
However, the recently reported rumors have set the Internet abuzz, as fans believe Krasinski embodied the character of Dr Richards better than anyone else.
Marvel fans clamor for the return of John Krasinski as Reed Richards
Soon after the rumors regarding the possibility of Pedro Pascal being cast as Reed Richards surfaced on the Internet, fans couldn't keep their calm and vehemently disregarded the apparent choice.
One wrote, "What is marvel doing look at John krasinski he’s literally Reed Richard’s."
Another stated, "Hmm. Don't get me wrong, of course I like Pascal - he embodied one of my new favorite Star Wars characters in The Mandalorian. But I thought John Krasinski was a perfect fit for the role in Multiverse of Madness. So I was hoping he'd be back."
"Imagine downgrading from John Krasinski to Pedro Pascal. Marvel continues to make all the wrong decisions," opined a person.
"Pedro is a fantastic actor, but doesn't fit the character of Mr. Fantastic at all. How many great actors or actresses have there been in the past that just don't fit into their role? Hundreds," pointed out a fan of MCU.
One more said, "Multiverse stuff, I get it, but Krasinski was perfect as Reed. And in general, I'm tired of Pascal being everywhere nowadays."
