TROUTMAN, NORTH CAROLINA: Jon Gosselin revealed how strained his relationship with his daughters, Mady and Cara, was as he stated that he had not spoken to them in nearly a decade. The former reality TV star, 46, who appeared on ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’ with his ex-wife, Kate, and their eight children, stated that his 22-year-old twins were "ignoring" his texts after the nasty custody battle.
"The last time I spoke to Mady and Cara was 2014," Gosselin told The Sun, adding, "I periodically text Mady and Cara to see if I get a response and at this point, I’ve never heard from them." He said that he would not attend their college graduation since he was not invited. “Sadly I am not attending Mady and Cara's college graduations,” he continued.

Gosselin and Kate got married in 1999, and had Mady and Cara the following year. Two years later, the couple welcomed sextuplets, Alexis, Collin, Joel, Hannah, Leah and Aaden, who are now 19. The ex-couple appeared in a number of reality shows, including ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’ and ‘Discovery Health Specials’. However, the couple ended their decade-long marriage in 2009 when Kate filed for divorce after Gosselin allegedly cheated on her. She was given full legal custody of the children during the divorce, although Hannah and Collin eventually moved in with Gosselin in 2018.
Mady and Cara last spoke publicly about their father in a 2016 People interview. "He makes it seem like we’re being kept from him, which is insane. He should maybe spend some time thinking about why we don’t want to see him, and maybe realize that if he ever does want a relationship with us, talking about us on TV is not the way to make that happen,” Mady, who was 15 at that time, said. She added, “He doesn’t even know us… And the last thing I have time for is a toxic relationship.” Cara agreed with Mady and said, “I wouldn’t even know what to say about him.”
'She alienated me from those kids'
In 2022, Gosselin, who claimed his ex-wife stole $100,000 from two of their children's bank accounts, said that she was partially responsible for how bad things were between him and his other children. "[Communicating with] the children that live with Kate is very difficult because I don’t have an open relationship with them," he told ET, adding, "I feel it’s a really poor decision on Kate’s part because she alienated me from those kids. I think it was a poor parenting decision. It would’ve been much better if she would have been more open with them and explained things better."
The former reality TV star confessed that he missed his children and that’s why he often shared throwback pictures on social media. "It’s horrible. Of course, I miss them. That’s why I post things on my Instagram, like, throwbacks, and TBTs. It’s bittersweet, but [Hannah] and Collin live with me, so I kind of just focus on them. Maybe they will realize what the truth is and what has transpired as maturity steps in. Maybe they'll go discover the truth or they'll ask Hannah or ask Collin," he said.
