LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fabio Lanzoni, the renowned Italian-American actor and fashion model, faced 'Last Week Tonight' host John Oliver's mockery after expressing controversial views on the Israel-Hamas conflict during a recent appearance on Fox Business Network.
Familiarly known as Fabio Lanzoni, the romance book cover model faced strong condemnation from Oliver on November 19's show.
John Oliver challenges Fabio Lanzoni's comparison of Hamas to Nazis
John Oliver took issues with Fabio Lanzoni's remarks, particularly those drawing parallels between Hamas and Nazi actions.
Fabio Lanzoni had asserted in his Fox interview, “These people find so much pleasure to kill, it’s the worst — 10,000 times worse than the Nazi,” and went on to claim that "at least the Nazis kept it kind of quiet."
Oliver, visibly taken aback, countered these statements on his show, emphasizing the lack of subtlety historically associated with the Nazis.
“Hold on Fabio,” Oliver said after playing the Fox clip.
“Far be it for me to contradict a noted geopolitical expert and former ‘I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter’ spokesperson, but ‘at least the Nazis kept it kind of quiet'?! The Nazis kept it many things. They kept it punctual. They kept it blond. They kept it humorless. And yes, they kept it tight. They were well-tailored pieces of shit, but subtlety was famously very much not their calling card, Fabio!” he added.
Fabio Lanzoni condemns alleged 'antisemitism' in Hollywood
The actor's views extended beyond the Israel-Hamas conflict, as he criticized what he referred to as an "antisemitism wave" in Hollywood.
In a surprising turn, Lanzoni suggested that nuclear war as a viable solution to bring an end to the ongoing conflict, arguing that if a similar incident occurred in the United States, the country would have responded with a nuclear strike.
“Israel is just trying to defend itself. If anything would have happened in the United States like it happened on Oct 7, the United States would have nuked the border country,” Lanzoni claimed.
