‘It’s a misunderstanding’: Kourtney Kardashian debunks myths about frozen eggs, reveals her previous ones ‘didn't survive’

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kourtney Kardashian recently opened up about the misconception surrounding the process of freezing eggs. The reality star discussed her fertility journey on the premiere episode of the third season of ‘The Kardashians’ and shared that she froze her eggs years before attempting to have a child with her husband, Travis Barker.

Kourtney revealed how she eventually decided to discontinue IVF (in vitro fertilization) and began believing in “what God has in store.” She also shared how she had “seven frozen eggs from years ago, before Travis” but most of it failed to survive. “When I was 38 or 39, everyone was like pushing me to do that. Most of mine didn’t survive the thaw because eggs are one cell, and none of them made it into an embryo,” the LEMME founder explained. “The freezing of eggs isn’t guaranteed. It’s a misunderstanding, people do it thinking it's a safety net, and it's not,” she stated.

We're just embracing that whatever is meant to be will be,” the reality star added.

Barker and Kourtney previously spoke about their journey to have a child during the last season of ‘The Kardashians.’ One of the episodes showed the couple sharing that they try to do an egg retrieval procedure for the first time. However, in the following week they revealed that the “egg retrieval didn't go the way that we would've hoped.” “He was able to retrieve the egg but it didn't make it to the embryo stage,” Kourtney said at the time.
