CALABASAS, CALIFORNIA: Terrell Owens escaped what could have turned into a major accident. The former professional footballer got into a heated altercation during a pickup basketball game in Calabasas, on Monday, October 16.
Though, it was not the altercation, but what followed after the game. His competitor, after the argument, drove his car into Owens who luckily didn’t require to be hospitalized.
Police register a case against the attacker
As per police, the unnamed male took off after the incident and an assault with a deadly weapon has been now registered.
The star is yet to address the incident publicly while no arrest has been made as of Tuesday morning, October 17, as per TMZ.
In 2022, the 49-year-old was in the news for a couple of run-ins with the police. In the first incident, the 'Hall of Fame' receiver was recorded punching and knocking down a heckler to the ground outside a Los Angeles CVS.
Owens was planning on a quick stop by the store and was trying to get some necessities inside CVS when he was approached by a 49ers fan.
The two had a friendly conversation in the beginning but it soon turned south. As the former NFL star and the fan were conversing, another man got in and started abusing the man already present there.
Terrell Owens punched the heckler in self-defense
The aggressor threatened to beat up both Owens and the fan outside the pharmacy, as per a witness. All three then moved to the sidewalk, just in front of the store.
The heckler reportedly took a swing at Owens, claimed the source. The star then, in self-defense, hit him in the face which got the man on the floor.
Owens didn’t want any more of that and simply drove off. In the second incident, a Florida woman named Caitlin Davis falsely accused the icon of targeting her, as per New York Post.
The woman was booked with providing false information to police after claiming Owens tried to run her off the road as she biked through the Deerfield Beach gated community.
As per the complaint filed by the woman, Owens was speeding and had run a stop sign. She further said that he exited his car and harassed her after she confronted him for his allegedly reckless driving, reports MEAWW.
Owens shared an 11-minute video on his Instagram on August 3 that had the whole argument, along with a police officer showing up at the scene with the caption, "KAREN IS REAL!!!! Wow!! JUST A NORMAL NIGHT OF BEING A BLACK MAN IN AMERICA. I want to say I can’t believe it but y’all know what it is."
