LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: OJ Simpson was captured carrying groceries and a laptop as he left a parking lot in his Southern California University polo tee.
The NFL legend could hardly be recognized as he made an outing in Las Vegas on Thursday, October 26.
Simpson was infamously known for the ‘Trial of the Century’ in which he was acquitted.
The 76-year-old was charged with the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend Ron Goldman.
He walked free after nine months in the trial, which got global coverage in 1995. The two murders took place outside the former’s home in Los Angeles.
Recently, hit show host John Oliver shaded OJ Simpson while taking a shot at New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez.
Menedez, along with Arslanian, have been charged with bribery over their alleged acceptance of “hundreds of thousands of dollars” in return for the use of the senator’s influence to enrich three New Jersey businessmen and benefit the Egyptian government.
What did John Oliver say about OJ Simpson?
During his show, ‘Last Week Tonight’, Oliver showed a reported video that captured Menedez trying to enchant Arslanian with a musical number from ‘The Greatest Showman’.
Menendez sang “Never Enough” with lyrics like “towers of gold will never be enough,” that’s where the host brought Simpson, who was also found guilty in a botched robbery and sentenced to up to 33 years in prison in 2008.
“It doesn’t look great now to hear the world’s oldest theater kid sing about how ‘towers of gold will never be enough’ for him, given the multiple gold bars that were found in his actual house,” Oliver said of Menedez’s bribery allegations.
“I don’t care how much you like a song if it sounds like a confession, maybe don’t sing it in public,” he continued, reports Deadline.
OJ Simpson on ex-NFL player Henry Ruggs sentencing
OJ Simpson earlier drew a comparison with ex-NFL player Henry Ruggs, who was given a three-to-ten-year sentence when he caused the death of a 23-year-old woman while driving drunk at over 155 mph in November 2021.
“The math just does not add up,” said Simpson, who had to spend nine years behind bars after he tried to steal sports memorabilia from a Las Vegas hotel room with a gun in September 2007, as per DailyMail.
“I know I went to college on a football scholarship, but somehow this math is not adding up to me,” he added.
“You’re driving a car at roughly 160 miles per hour on a public street and end up killing a girl and her dog, and you get three to ten years?” Simpson said.
