GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA: 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' star Whitney Way Thore's father Glenn Way Thore was recently involved in a horrific car accident. Glenn was admitted to a North Carolina emergency room this week after a serious car crash.
Eight months after the passing of her mother, Barbara 'Babs' Thore, Whitney's father, Glenn's car crash sparked concern. Whitney shared details about her father's car crash in an Instagram video.
Whitney shared, "Over the weekend I got one of those calls that you never want to get. My dad had been in a wreck." She further noted, "Luckily, he was just a few minutes away from my house so I was able to get there quickly."
Glenn was trying to cross an intersection when a driver coming the opposite way ran a red light and slammed into him. Whitney added that the driver and his passenger were fine but they were just really shaken up.
Glenn was rushed to the nearby hospital and Whitney took him to the Emergency Room where he received 'X-rays, scans, and a CAT scan.' Whitney explained that her dad 'refused morphine' at the hospital despite being 'in a lot of pain.'
Whitney Way Thore shares update after Glenn's horrific car crash
After the terrific car accident, Whitney Way Thore shared an update on her father's health. She noted that her father thought he broke his ribs but he is totally fine.
She shared an update video which was filmed the day after the crash. The video showed Whitney and Glenn sitting side-by-side in her car, and she laughed at the expression on his face.
Glenn is seemingly an avid coffee drinker because Whitney explained how he said he needed to go to Starbucks or the employees at the coffee shop would worry about him. With their coffees secured, Whitney asked Glenn what he was going to do today and he said, "Rest."
However, the 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' star wrote, "This helicopter daughter is helicoptering! ? Hug your daddies tight. Glenn Thore will be protected at all costs!" Meanwhile, her followers showered Glenn with heartwarming messages from well-wishers.

She completed her graduation from Page High School in 2002. Whitney later attended Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, majoring in Theatre.
