LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tennis icon Pete Sampras recently opened up about his wife Bridgette Wilson's health condition as she's currently battling ovarian cancer.
In a statement released by the ATP Tour, the 14-time Grand Slam champion shared a rare glimpse into his usually private life, narrating their struggles, as per Daily Mail.

In his statement, Pete Sampras wrote, "In the world of tennis, Pete Sampras is a name synonymous with excellence, but off the court, he's facing a challenge that has tested his strength and resilience. Last December, my wife, Bridgette, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer."
Since the diagnosis, Bridgette Wilson, known for her past work as an actress, singer, and model, has undergone major surgery, and chemotherapy, and is now on a path of targeted maintenance therapy.
Sampras expressed the difficulties of witnessing a loved one's struggle but found strength in their two sons, who have been unwavering pillars of support for both Bridgette and himself.
The tennis legend spoke with admiration about his wife's determination, emphasizing her enduring role as a dedicated mother and wife throughout her health battle. He acknowledged the challenges of reaching out for support during such trying times.
"Watching Bridgette continue to be an incredible mom and wife through it all has been inspiring. I have also learned that it is very hard to reach for support when something is simply too hard to talk about," shared Sampras.
"With that said, I will end this by humbly asking for good thoughts & prayers for our family as Bridgette continues to thrive on her healing journey. Thank you," concluded the tennis star.

Pete Sampras, 52, and Bridgette Wilson have shared their love story since their marriage in 2000. The couple has two children, Christian, 20, and Ryan, 18, who have proven to be strong pillars of support during her health journey.
