CLEVELAND, OHIO: Jake Paul faced criticism from fans on the Internet for his ‘go crazy’ comment ahead of the KSI vs Tommy Fury fight. Tommy Fury and KSI are set to face each other in a six-round exhibition boxing match on October 14, headlining "The Prime Card."
In an earlier event in 2023, Fury secured a split decision victory against Jake Paul, handing Paul his inaugural professional boxing loss. Since then, KSI has viewed the contest with 'TNT' as an opportunity to show his superiority against Paul.
Internet reacts to Jake Paul’s statement
The Problem Child doesn't believe that will have ramifications in the next KSI fight. In reference to KSI perhaps defeating Fury, Paul made the following comment during an appearance on the Full Send Podcast.
“He’s gonna go crazy, for sure [if he beats Tommy Fury, and we won’t see the end of it. Go off. KSI, if you beat Tommy [Fury], go crazy, bro. Let that sh*t rub your ego. Say whatever you want to say, but guess what? Just because you maybe beat Tommy, you didn’t beat me. Man-to-man and styles make fights. Everyone knows that,” Jake Paul said.
When the video went viral, fans on Twitter expressed varying and conflicting opinions.
“I can’t wait to see Jake’s excuses once KSI wins by UD October 14,” one of them said. Another noted, “He’s got nothing to worry about Lsi don’t stand a chance.”
“Ksi is horrible, tommy would be forced out of his city,” someone claimed, while another comment read, “& what ‘style’ does Jake Paul have? Tommy wiped him.”
“Hahah, I know he thinks KSI wins, and it’s burning him inside,” a user wrote. Another claimed, “Styles do make fights.”
“He’s lying if KSI wins by knockout THARS gonna haunt him for so long. And imagine Jake rematches Tommy after and still loses," someone pointed out. Another simply said, “Who cares.”
Jake Paul’s advice to KSI
Since dominating the influencer scene, a high-profile boxing match between Jake Paul and KSI has seemed inevitable.
During an appearance on the 'Full Send Podcast', YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul reminded KSI, who had lost to Tommy Fury, that he must secure a victory against his opponent before asserting his claim as the superior fighter.
“Everyone knows that just because this person beat this person, doesn’t mean that that person can beat the other person. That’s where it goes back to win, lose, or draw. I want all of them. You can’t come after me and say you’re better than me and say all of these things until you’ve beaten me,” he said.
