LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bill Murray, 72, and Kelis, 44, have reportedly called it quits after a whirlwind summer romance of two months.
Murray and the ‘Milkshake’ singer sparked dating rumors after the ‘Ghostbusters’ star was spotted attending the Mighty Hoopla festival in South London in early June.
However, it was the songstress and culinary expert Kelis, who finally decided to part ways. An insider told The Sun that the recently-former couple split amicably.
Are Bill Murray and Kelis still together?
Unfortunately, the two stars decided to put an end to their May-December romance with an insider telling the news outlet, “Kelis and Bill were — and still are — very fond of each other but things just ran their course.”
They further added, “They both have busy schedules and after a whirlwind romance decided to go their separate ways.”
The source, however, added that they plan to move on with their lives and said, “They hope to remain friends but also plan to get on with their lives.”
How did Bill Murray meet Kelis?
It was reported earlier that the funnyman and the ‘Tasty’ singer came close after meeting in the United States after Kelis’s husband Mike Mora’s untimely death due to cancer in March 2022.
When the news of their relationship broke, an insider said to Daily Mail, that they "met up in the States before, which got people in the industry talking, and now are meeting up in London while they're both here. They've clearly hit it off.”
The source added, "They were both seen at the same hotel, and he's been to watch her perform several times before he went to Mighty Hoopla [in South London].”
They further continued, “Whatever it is that has brought them together, and however unlikely it seems, they are both single and are having fun despite the fairly big age gap.”
While Kelis lost her husband due to cancer, Murray lost his second ex-wife Jennifer Butler to cancer in 2021. Though Murray and Butler divorced in 2008, the pair kept in touch till the actress’s death in 2021.
Reportedly, Murray and Kelis bonded because of their similar grief.

When the fan asked her in June, “Ma'am would you care to address these Bill Murray allegations?” she replied, “Lol no babe, I wouldn't bother at all.”
In another Instagram post, the ‘Trick Me’ singer wrote, “Everyone's dumb and will believe anything,” before adding, “The best part is we are both blessed, rich, and happy," per Daily Mail.
