LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Morgan Fairchild, the 73-year-old actress best known for her roles in 'General Hospital' and 'Days of Our Lives', has announced the death of her longtime partner and fiance, Mark Seiler. In a heartfelt post on social media, Fairchild revealed that Seiler died on July 7.
Fairchild described Seiler as “a warm, brilliant & very funny man” and said she was “devastated” by his loss. She also urged her fans to “hold your loved ones close and please consider wearing a mask.” She wrote in the emotional post, "He was a warm, brilliant & very funny man, and I am devastated."
How did Mark Seiler die?
Seiler died after suffering from Parkinson’s disease and multiple Covid infections. “He’d had Parkinson’s for several years, but it seems to be #longcovid that killed him after his 3rd infection,” she wrote, alongside a photo of the couple in happier times on both Twitter and Instagram. "#SadNews I’m so sorry to let you know that my beloved life partner & fiance, Mark Seiler, passed away last Friday, she stated in her post. She also added, ''Hold your loved ones close and please consider wearing a mask. #BeKind I am Sending Love To You All."
'We’re both getting older'
Fairchild has been a vocal advocate for mask-wearing and Covid precautions, especially since Seiler was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2016 and moved to a nursing home in 2020. The couple had been together since 1980 and were engaged for many years, but never married as per Daily Mail.“It’s definitely a long-term commitment and we’ve been together for a long time … so we may just leave it the way it is right now. We’re both getting older,” Fairchild told Closer magazine last year.
Fairchild rarely shared photos of Seiler on social media, but in May 2022 she posted a picture of them having lunch together at a cafe. “#OnMyWalk to lunch with my guy!” she captioned the snap. “Always fun to have iced chocolate @bluestonelane with a nice breeze! Our masks are on the table," she captioned the post.
'So very sorry for your loss'
Fairchild received an outpouring of support and condolences from her fans and fellow celebrities. "My deepest condolences and prayers for you beautiful friend, he is at peace with our Lord and Savior. May the blood of Christ comfort you and heal your heart. Love you, sister," Apollonia Kotero wrote. "So very sorry for your loss. What joy he seemed to spark! May the memories sustain you" wrote Deborah Roberts. George Hahn said, "Oh Morgan… I am so very sorry." While Billy Stritch wrote, "Morgan I am so very sorry for your deep and profound loss. Sending love and my deepest condolences."
