LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Katharine McPhee, a singer and actress, recently lost her son's nanny. It has now been revealed she died in a freak car accident involving an 84-year-old woman.
The nanny, Yadira Calito, was a 55-year-old woman who worked for McPhee and her husband, David Foster, a musician and songwriter.

Calito was also close to the couple’s two-year-old son Rennie David. The accident happened on Wednesday, August 9, at awround 9.10 am at a Toyota dealership, 11041 N Sepulveda Blvd, in Los Angeles as per TMZ.
Calito was waiting in the customer reception area when an 84-year-old woman who was taking her car in for a service mistakenly hit the gas instead of the brake and crashed her Toyota RAV4 into the building.
The SUV pinned Calito under it and dragged her for 20 feet before she was freed from under the car.
An off-duty nurse who witnessed the crash rushed to perform CPR on Calito until the emergency services arrived. However, Calito was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver of the SUV was not arrested but stayed on the scene to answer questions from the police as reported by Daily Mail.
Two men, 23 and 35, who were working at the dealership were also injured in the crash, but are expected to make a full recovery.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that one person died and two others were injured in the crash. They are appealing for witnesses and information, and have provided contact details for anyone who may have seen or know anything about the collision.
In a statement, the police department said, "All drivers are reminded to drive with due care, free of distractions, and be mindful of potential hazards.

McPhee, who was on tour in Asia with her husband, a 16-time Ammy award winner, last week that she would be missing the final two shows in Jakarta, Indonesia, after the “horrible tragedy in the family”.
She said in a statement that she had to return home to their family while Foster continued with the two performances.
