LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Indiana Jones’ actor Harrison Ford loves to stay busy with work and his age doesn’t stop him either. Recently, the actor revealed that he has no desire to retire from acting. "I don't do well when I don't have work," he shared in a recent interview. "I love to work. I love to feel useful. It's my jones. I want to be helpful," said Ford.
Ford, who will turn 81 in July, further added, "It is the people that you get to work with," explained the ‘Blade Runner’ actor on what fascinates him the most in filmmaking. "The intensity and the intimacy of collaboration. It's the combined ambition somehow forged from words on a page. I don't plan what I want to do in a scene, and I don't feel obliged to do anything. But I am, I guess, naturally affected by the things that I work on." Ford made an appearance on ‘Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?’ and talked about his fifth and final part of ‘Indiana Jones’. ‘The Fugitive’ actor wants his movie to be ‘ambitious’ and to 'confront the question of age straight-on', as he said "not to hide my age, but to take advantage of it in the telling of the story," according to People.
'I wanted it to be about age'
He elaborates, "I feel very strongly that it does [pull it off]. It's time for me to grow up. Six years ago, I thought maybe we ought to take a shot at making another one. And I wanted it to be about age because I think that rounds out the story that we've told and we’ve brought it to the right place.” Ford opened up about 'Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' and said that it "did not end with a real strong feeling of the conclusion or the closure that I always hoped for." The veteran further clarified, "Speaking to this issue of age, not making jokes about it, but making it a real thing."
'I never wanted to be rich and famous'
Meanwhile, he’s also filming scenes for 'Captain America: Brave New World', “I probably enjoy making movies more now than I ever did. I don’t want to be young again. I was young, and now I enjoy being old.” The humble star in a previous interview said, “No one ever believes this, but I never wanted to be rich and famous. I just wanted to be an actor."
