NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Good Morning America’ star Gio Benitez snapped at a troll who called him a “total flake” for not having made guacamole in the past despite him being a Hispanic.
The ‘GMA’ weekend host recently conducted a special segment on the morning show with former chief meteorologist Sam Champion, correspondents Rebecca Jarvis, and Juju Chang, and chef/TV personality Pati Jinich.
The segment saw Benitez and Champion preparing guacamole as per Jinich's instruction.
The duo then enjoyed the guac on national television, with Benitez later sharing the snaps from the segment on his Instagram account.

Benitez was delighted to welcome Emmy Nominated TV personality and Mexican chef Pati Jinich on the morning show.
Taking her expertise into consideration, Benitez and Champion followed Jinich’s lead as she told them how to make guacamole.
After the cooking, Benitez and Champion along with Jinich took a bite from their feast.
Benitez later shared a few photos from the segment, with one of them focusing on him, Champion, and Jinich completely engrossed in eating the guac.
He also shared a group photo with Jinich, Champion, Jarvis, and Chang. He also shared a selfie with the former ‘GMA’ chief meteorologist on the set.
Benitez captioned his post, “Of course, we bring out the guacamole when @samchampion and I are together — it’s no different on national TV! Loved making guac with you on @goodmorningamerica, @patijinich!”
He continued, “And what a fun surprise to see @samicaknightabc13 from our powerhouse station @abc13houston in the studio. Of course, we talked all about @kevinozebek’s phenomenal reporting there."
Gio Benitez shuts down a troll who tried to mock him
Benitez was mocked by a troll who called him out for not knowing how to make guacamole despite being Hispanic.
The troll commented, “Dude is Hispanic and never made guacamole. Whatever. Total flake.”
Benitez saw the comment on his post and shot back. “I said I hadn’t made it that way! I smashed the avocados with a fork before,” he said.
Except for this troll, others were kind and gracious enough to compliment Benitez on his excellent food-filled segment.
One wrote, “Wonderful segment - complete harmony between food and presenters - you all seemed so @ ease & not forced smiles.”
Another added, “Great segment-highly entertaining” while a third said, “I have been watching you eat on national TV for 2 days.!”
