NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News anchor Tomi Lahren has taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express her views on former President Donald Trump. In the tweet, Lahren expressed the difference between Trump’s message from 2016, as compared to that in 2024.
While Lahren also clarified that she believed Trump is being “unfairly persecuted,” she faced backlash for the comparison of Trump in 2016, to 2024.
In addition, the Fox News anchor has also doubled down on this with another tweet, only a couple of hours apart from the previous tweet, where she said “Trump is not a king” and “he’s not god.”
Tomi Lahren spots the difference between Donald Trump in 2016 and 2024
In her tweet, the Fox News anchor wrote, "I wholeheartedly believe Trump is being very unfairly persecuted and prosecuted. HOWEVER 2016 Trump had a message: “WE are getting screwed” 2024 Trump’s only message seems to be: I AM getting screwed. And yeah, it hits different.”
Only a couple of hours later, Lahren shared an article written by Candice Ortiz on Mediaite which was titled, “Charlie Kirk Calls on Ron DeSantis to Donate His Super PAC Money to Trump: ‘He Would Be Hero Status in the Republican Party!’”
As Lahren shared a screenshot of the article, she wrote, “This is the dumbest s**t I’ve ever heard. Trump is not a king. He’s not God. He’s not our Lord and Savior. He has to win the nomination just like anybody else.”
Lahren solidified her stance that she does not believe Florida Governor Ron DeSantis should give his money to Donald Trump, in order to win the GOP race.
Fox News anchor Tomi Lahren faces backlash
In response to Tomi Lahren’s first tweet on the comparison between Donald Trump’s message from “we” to “I,” Lahren faced backlash, as not everyone agreed with her.
One person wrote, “He has the same message, keep up grifter,” and another said, “YOU hit different.”
People have continued to slam Lahren over her stance on Trump’s message, “As soon as you said HOWEVER…you lost,” and another user wrote, “Not sure if you know, but but Tomi has been bought and paid for..”
Trump’s supporters have also come to his defense after Lahren’s tweet as one person wrote, “So you want to abandon the ONLY person willing to go through, what he’s going through, for us? EVERY American should be behind President Trump!” and another said, “Not really. The stress he feels because he tried to fight for us, yes he is getting screwed.”
