MIAMI, FLORIDA: Authorities have apprehended a serial thief who is accused of continuously stealing items from Marshalls and food from Publix and Tropical Supermarkets.
According to bond court documents, Alberto Betancourt was arrested on Sunday, July 2, for robberies at Publix supermarket and a Marshalls on W Flagler Street in the Fontainebleau area of Miami-Dade.
Betancourt pulled out a knife when confronted by the store manager
A report from the day of his arrest states that Betancourt filled a large backpack with several meat items and took out a knife when he was confronted by the manager of the supermarket.
Betancourt later entered a Publix supermarket at 8341 W Flagler Street on another occasion and again proceeded to fill a large bag with meat products. He again pulled out a knife when several customers approached, the police report stated.
Betancourt claimed he is destitute and homeless
The report also states that Betancourt informed the authorities of being destitute. He told them that he was homeless and stole the food because he was hungry. Betancourt was charged with petit theft, armed robbery, grand theft in the third degree, and dealing in stolen property, NBC Miami reports.

Ahmed Snina is a 24-year-old tour guide in Walt Disney Orlando Tours. He was arrested for breaking into a car in EPCOT's parking lot. The Orange County Sheriff's Office is leading this ongoing investigation to gather more information surrounding the case.
Snina's arrest came about on July 21 as authorities spotted something unusual on video surveillance. The footage showed him taking a baby stroller that was parked in the France pavilion, a spot where many people leave their strollers before heading off to enjoy Remy's Ratatouille Adventure.
