PALM COAST, FLORIDA: A Florida man has been arrested after allegedly pointing a firearm at another driver during a road rage incident, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 30, and deputies responded to reports about a road rage incident at the intersection of Palm Coast Parkway and Old Kings Road in Palm Coast.

Upon their arrival, officers found Roberto Navarro of Jacksonville driving on the Interstate-95 northbound ramp. Deputies claim to have evidence that Navarro had been at the intersection where he reportedly pointed a black 9mm Taurus pistol at another driver during the rage incident, and the firearm was later discovered in the glove compartment of Navarro's car. He was at the scene and later charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Navarro was taken to the Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and was later released after posting a $15,000 bail, according to Fox News.

Roberto Navarro's incident is one of many

"Pointing a gun at someone because of road rage is never the right answer and can lead to deadly consequences. We ask that drivers separate themselves from other vehicles if you feel like you are in danger, and call us for help," Sheriff Rick Staly said following the road rage incident. Navarro's arrest came just a few days after another Florida man was arrested after being accused of attacking other cars with a tire iron in a road rage incident. The Brevard County Sheriff's Office explained that Raymond Hofmann was arrested after deputies responded to the intersection of School Street and Bay Avenue in Cocoa on reports of a road rage incident.

What happened during the Raymond Hofmann road rage incident?

Witnesses reportedly told authorities that Hofmann first parked his grey Chevy Tahoe in the middle of the roadway, and when other cars tried to cross him, he began brutally ramming them. As the situation worsened, the man stepped out and began using a tire iron to strike the other cars as they passed. He apparently broke the side window of a passing truck when the tire iron got stuck in the broken glass, as per WTSP.

Once deputies arrived at the scene, they found Hofmann standing with the crowbar. He started walking toward the authorities, saying, "You will have to kill me," when asked to drop the object. This is when deputies say Hofmann threw the crowbar and took off running. However, he was eventually arrested and charged with various counts of resisting and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
