KANSAS, MISSOURI: Donna Kelce, the mother of NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce, has opened up about how she handles the media attention on her sons whie dropping a hint on Travis’ relationship with pop star Taylor Swift.
She said she follows their lead in keeping their “stuff private” but also noted that “they are making it very clear” to the world in refference to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.
Donna Kelce has been advised not to read and take anything personally
Donna, who recently partnered with Ancestry, told E! News that Travis, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, can “compartmentalize” his personal and professional life.
"He can be in the moment and talk to somebody and not worry about what else is going on around him,” she said.
She also revealed that both Travis and his brother Jason, the center for the Philadelphia Eagles, have advised her not to take anything that she reads personally.
“They just say, ‘Please don’t take anything that you read personally. Sometimes a lot of it’s made up, sometimes it’s not..."
Donna Kelce follows her son's lead about when she can mention things
She said, “And you know, I’ll follow their lead. When they tell me I can mention things, when I can say things, I will."
"But in the meantime I’m just gonna keep their stuff private," she added.
She added, "They're doing just fine on their own, showing the world. I don't think I have to say a word. They're going ahead and making it very clear."
Donna Kelce says she supports her sons with funny pictures and messages before their games
Donna said, “They’re very happy that they’ve had the success that they have and they know that that comes along with it,” she said.
She also said that she tries to attend every game that she can and supports them with funny pictures and messages.
“I just text them the day before the game and tell them that I wish them all the luck in the world,” she said.
Donna Kelce doesn't receive heads up from her sons before they do something big
Donna admitted that she doesn’t always get a heads up from her sons before they do something big like traveling abroad or releasing a new project.
“They don’t give me a heads up. They’re guys, they’re guys,” she told E!, adding “So, they don’t really tell their mom everything—they’re 34 and 36 years old.”
However, she said she understands and respects their privacy. “But they do include me in a lot of things,” she added.
“They’re doing just fine on their own, showing the world. I don’t think I have to say a word. They’re going ahead and making it very clear," she continued.
