NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former President Donald Trump stirred controversy once again with his peculiar responses to questions about his 17-year-old son, Barron, whom he shares with his second wife, Melania Trump.
During an interview with Debbie Kraulidis, Vice President of Moms for America, the 77-year-old Trump discussed his relationship with Barron.
At a certain moment, Kraulidis inquired about Melania, to which Trump responded, "She is great. She is doing a tremendous job with my son, who’s a fantastic guy."
"He is also a tall guy, a very tall guy. I would say he's now 6 feet 8 inches, so he's up there, right? But he's great. He's a great young man, a very good student, and I think he's doing a good job," he added.
“Baron, he's think he's doing a very good job. He's 17 now, yes, okay,” the 45th US President said.
Trump previously talked about Barron during his interview with Megyn Kelly, where he explained that his youngest is a “very good athlete” and the family is already talking about his college plans.
When questioned about Barron's potential attendance at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, Trump responded that he is "looking at" the possibility.
Trump obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1968, with his children Donald Trump Jr and Ivanka Trump later following in his footsteps. Additionally, Tiffany Trump graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016.
Donald Trump talks about hot issues
President Trump discusses his views on the contentious subjects that mothers in America care about most, including the battle against drugs and human trafficking, men participating in women's sports, and threats to parental rights.
"In the old days, I had a brother who was a fantastic guy. He always looked at me and said no drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes, but actually, the drugs were much later because if you look at drugs today, it’s like today’s so much less than alcohol. It’s not a positive thing," the former President stated.
He continued by issuing a warning, stating, "When one of your children or all of your children are on drugs, it just puts them at such a disadvantage. You got to put them away. It’s an unbelievable chemical reaction and mental addiction and everything else."
“Our country has gone crazy. It’s gotten totally out of control,” Trump said, adding “I don’t understand – who could think this was good? Unless you’re trying to destroy our country, who could think this is good?”
Internet reacts to Donald Trump’s remarks
Trump’s remarks have garnered immense social media attention, with many users mocking him for comments about his son Barron. “He talks about his son like he's an intern in the State Dept,” one user said.
“I wonder if Trump ever played a game of basketball with his son like the rest of us have humm ?,” another user questioned. “Narrator: He knows nothing about his 17-year-old son,” one user mocked.
‘I’m not saying he’s going to win in 2024, but as a precaution, I think they should change all the nuclear codes to his kids’ birthdays. Just to be safe,” a user joked.
Another user questioned, "Pray tell, Donald: what job is your '6’8' seventeen-year-old, good student' doing besides making it through the absolute daily embarrassment of having you as a father?"
“Melania is doing her best to keep Barron as far away from this guy as possible. And it's working,” one more said.
