LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kevin Andres Munoz Tovar was tortured and killed after police found his body tied in La Playita. The actor, who starred in the Netflix movie ‘Dogwashers’ was reported dead on Monday, November 19, by the authorities.
Tovar suffered from multiple machete wounds while his hand and feet were tied, as per local media reports.
Cause of Kevin Tovar's death is yet to be established
The alleged killer was arrested but is yet to be identified officially. Major Nicolas Guillermo Suarez Plata of the Tulua Police District said, “The Valle Police Department reports that, thanks to the timely information provided by citizens, in an operational deployment of the Police, the capture of a 19-year-old man was achieved who, minutes before, had allegedly participated in the homicide of Kevin Andres Munoz Tovar, a renowned actor from a Colombian film.”
“The subjects who caused the injuries then fled the scene, but thanks to information from the community, one of them was captured,” he added.
Tovar also featured in the Apple TV series 'Echo 3' which is a story of an American scientist in Columbia taken hostage. The young 23-year-old actor was also featured in the series 'Turbia' on the Telepacífico channel in which he shared a scene with actor Alvaro Rodriguez.
The police are yet to establish the cause of the murder as the authorities continue with the investigation, reports Metro.

Tovar's fans have started reacting to the actor’s death with one expressing, “So much evil, so much pain." A second fan said, “My God… how sad! God help his family with this horrible pain.”
“My God, poor mother. fly high and rest in peace child. How horrible this news is,” a third one wrote.
Another user said, "Absolutely tragic. So sad to hear this news. The good ones are always taken too soon." Another fan mourning his death said, "Rest in peace Kevin Andres Munoz Tovar. You were one in a million."
"It is with great sadness that I learned today of the violent death of Kevin Andres Munoz Tovar, who played Yoiner in the movie ‘Lavaperros’. He was 23-years-old and had a promising future in music and acting. Rest in peace," a user wrote.
"What an absolute tragedy and what a horrible way to leave this life. He must have been so scared. Thinking of his family and loved ones at this heartbreaking time," another expressed his grief over the killing.
