GREENVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA: After helping PewDiePie in waging battle against the Indian music business many years ago, YouTube star MrBeast has officially challenged T-Series to a sub-count face-off "for PewDiePie." Currently, Jimmy Donaldson aka MrBeast has the most subscribers among every independent creator on YouTube, but it wasn't always like this.
Felix Kjellberg aka PewDiePie, a Swedish creator dominated the site until 2022. However, he was briefly dethroned by the Indian music label T-Series.
PewDiePie vs T-Series
Currently, T-Series is the number-one most subscribed channel on YouTube. It officially beat PewDiePie back in 2019 after a fierce war erupted between the fans of PewDiePie and Bollywood. Leading the charge from the front lines, MrBeast even attended the Super Bowl wearing "Subscribe to PewDiePie" t-shirts. Even though T-Series eventually overtook PewDiePie, the now semi-retired YouTuber held the position of the most subscribed independent creator on YouTube until MrBeast surpassed him.
However, it is safe to say that the largest feud on the internet in 2019 may have belonged to YouTuber PewDiePie and the Indian record firm T-Series. The competition for the top YouTube channel had really begun in October 2018 and lasted until the following year. The epic online conflict was entertaining, with a few tense moments, but it finally settled down as both parties carried on with their work in the same manner.
'I’m doing this for Pewdiepie'
Despite all of this war and MrBeast rising to the top of YouTube in PewDiePie's stead, the two personalities are on good terms and even met up in Japan to supposedly film a video together. Now in a recent development, it looks like the gap is closing between MrBeast’s channel and that of T-Series. MrBeast is currently the second most subscribed YouTube channel, trailing T-Series by just about 73 million subscribers. In response to this comparison, MrBeast tweeted on August 5 that he will wage war on the competing channel in order to exact revenge "for PewDiePie." MrBeast made a tweet saying, "I’m doing this for Pewdiepie," which got millions of views and several comments in less than 10 hours.
So whether Jimmy would be able to take this war or not is all yet to be seen. However, fans have already gathered to support MrBeast in the hopes that he will surpass his longtime opponent.
